Daughters of St. Joseph Sodality

dsj1 The Daughters of St. Joseph is a group for girls ages 9-17 to help them grow in their faith, have fun together and serve in the Church and community, founded by the Sisters of Our Lady Immaculate. They take St. Joseph as a spiritual father who will look after and protect them from heaven, just as he looked after and protected Mary and Jesus during his lifetime on earth. Each girl commits herself to pray a daily prayer to St. Joseph, attend Sunday Mass every week, receive the Sacrament of Penance at least once every two months and to dress modestly. Once a member, she receives the DSJ monthly newsletter, "The Hammer." To become a member, a girl must sign a commitment paper and also have it signed by a parent, sending it in with her $5.00 yearly dues. At the next gathering of the Daughters of St. Joseph she is able to attend, she will be formally enrolled and receive her cross and blessed medal of St. Joseph.

Daily Sodality Prayer
to St. Joseph

 O St. Joseph, humble and
loving foster father of Our Lord
Jesus Christ, take me as your
daughter and be to me a father.
Please take care of my family
and friends, the Church and the
whole world that all will come
to know, love and serve God as
you did.  Take us all by the
hand and teach us how to live
holy lives so that we may all be
together in Heaven one day
with you and Jesus and Mary.
Amen.
