"If God wishes us to grow, our purpose will be to restore the teaching of religion, to giving a full knowledge of the Faith starting with the basics and a vigorous and continuing effort to help the children practice it." - Fr. Ryan
Recognizing the need for sound Catholic doctrine to be taught in our schools and catechism classes, the Sisters of Our Lady Immaculate dedicate themselves to the teaching of the Faith through the education of youth, particularly in the field of catechetics. To this end, the Sisters take on all works connected with religious education including teaching, youth retreats, sacred music, mission works, altar society, Legion of Mary and other types of apostolic work that involves the passing on of the Catholic Faith.
"The proper teaching of religion is of such tremendous importance that it could be a very worthy intention, extremely pleasing to God, for which to consider offering our prayers and works, and our lives". - Fr. Ryan
"Our task as religious educators is a tremendous challenge. To prepare souls of mettle and initiative they must be taught authentic Catholic doctrine ...by our own personal convictions we can inspire our young people with heroic zeal, discipline, endurance, and a strong Faith in Christ and His Church, to offset the pagan influences of our modern world. This is our mission, our task, our challenge as consecrated souls". - Mother Mary Josephine
"The teaching of catechism is a simple, noble, and indispensable apostolate without which Christian life lacks a solid foundation". -Pope Paul VI
